As an "early adopter" of Visual Effects in the 80's, I was lucky enough to be in at the beginning of using computers for visual effects work by founding CAL Videographics Ltd in London.

My training at the BBC had exposed me to the traditional film methods of achieving visual effects, and shortly after, the introduction of using "Green Screen" in television made a huge impact in the speed of producing effects. In 1990 I moved to Munich and became the 'Digital Production Supervisor' at Bavaria Film Studios.
At roughly the same time I was introduced to Thomas Zauner and we decided to join forces and start a new company. Together with Stefanie Stalf we grounded CA Scanline Computer Animation GmbH... better known just as Scanline. The company has now developed into being a world leader in visual effects, especially in the area of "fluid motion". I am no longer a partner in the company, leaving several years ago to concentrate on directing.
